Meet your farmer
Growing up on a small Illinois farm with livestock, Elizabeth’s introduction to animal husbandry began at a young age.
After learning about the incredible benefits of raw milk, she begged for a cow and got her first Jersey milk cow at the age of 16. She was now a milkmaid providing milk, and making fresh butter, mozzarella cheese, and ice cream for the family table.
Elizabeth stayed on the family farm after high school learning how to care for her parents’ beef herd and meat chickens. During that time she started her own laying flock and continued milking the family cow.
The idea of a raw milk dairy had floated around in the back of her mind for a couple years. Over several months, person after person walked into the family’s farm store either asking for raw milk or talking about their dairy intolerance. Eventually, she began to consider making her idea into a business.
In 2022 upon completion of a short internship on a conventional dairy farm in Pennsylvania, Elizabeth returned to the family farm and began Flowered Cow Dairy LLC.
